An Opening Ceremony of the Prague Writers´ Festival (April 21–25), for the first time held in the Mirror Chapel of the Klementinum; a press conference, dedicated to the festival, took place in the National Library´s Meeting Hall

The Concert of Dutch and Czech Music in the Klementinum´s Mirror Chapel took place
thanks to the kind support of the Royal Netherlands Embassy;
it was performed by the Harmonia Mozartiana Pragensis ensemble,
prepared by dr. Bastiaan Blomhert from The Netherlands, who then gave a lecture in the National Library´s Meeting Hall on the theme Mutual Comparison of the Czech Musician and Composer Jan Vent and W. A. Mozart

Apollinaire – An Open Book – the international symposium took place in the National Library and in the Faculty of Arts (prepared by Michel Décaudin, the Honorary President of the conference, and Aleš Pohorský, the Director of the Institute of Roman Studies, Faculty of Arts of Charles University)

Bookworld Prague 2002, the 8th international book fair took place in the Industrial Palace of the Prague Exhibition Grounds; the National Library participated in it again with its own stand;
the opening ceremony was held in the Klementinum´s Mirror Chapel on May 8th; on the occasion of the fair, the library organized tours for students of basic and secondary schools round historical premises of the Klementinum (May 9–10), and open days for individuals in the Central Depositary in Hostivař (May 11) and in the Klementinum (May 12)

some of them were borrowed from other institutions (National Technical Museum etc.);
the exhibition was prepared in cooperation with the Faculty of Education, Technical University in Liberec

the exhibition in the Prague Castle was held within the framework of an international project;
the main organizer was Deutsche Verbände für Altertumsforschung e.V. and besides Germany,
also the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia participated in it.
The National Library lent to the exhibition three of its most important manuscripts
Homiliarium quod dicitur Opatovicense (MS.III F 6),
Treatise of Jan of Holešov with the Czech song Hospodine, pomiluj ny (MS. III D 17)
and the so-called Milíč´s Manuscript (MS.XVII F 30)

and the National Library lent twelve early prints from its historical collections
